i only have 2 plant types atm in my aquarium and tbh i couldnt tell you there scientific name lol theres a pic of my tank in my sig u may be able to work it out from that :p think 1 is a anubia though....

basically i wana dose my plants up abit as they seem to be dying and for some reason my fish like to nibble on the leaves lol

im guessing most people would reccomend seachem flourish?

Those are Elodea, also known as Egeria species (probably E. densa).

They're looking all bunched up, did you take the weights off and spread the plants out a bit?

yeh they came in lil ceramic pots which ive taken them out of.. i just left them in the sponge and buried them in the gravel, is that correct? ... ive spread them out abit now though had a bit of a rescape since that pick as they was tangled up :/ im still learning on the plant front tbh

You should take the wool/sponge/whatever it is off.

It's fine that you're still learning :) I suggest that you start by making yourself familiar with some of the most common plants, so that you can recognise them and maybe try a few other plants as well before thinking about fertilisers and CO[sub]2[/sub].. how often and how much water do you change?

20% of a 90litre tank once a week :) its maturing now been running for about 6 months...
unfortunatly i find plants a little more complex than basic fish keeping of a community tank hehe

The water changes are fine.

Just by looking at the photos in your sig, the plants seem to be doing fine.. but I guess that's out of date? Can you show us how they look now?

Also you said that your fish are eating the plants.. which fish do you keep? Mollies, by any chance?

As for the plant keeping, if you already have success with Anubias, I would suggest getting some different Anubias species as they're usually considered very easy. Also worth trying are Java moss and Java fern.

The fish that nip at the leaves are usually my Kribensis and my Honey Gouramis ... occasionally my corys will look like theyre going over them with their barbels....

im going to put a few more foreground plants in i think :) just wana know im not killing my plants and i thought the ferts may help lol

The Anubias looks lovely, the Elodea looks no worse than is usual..

thanks :) yeh i love the anubia it looks so good and its attached onto my bogwood lovely considering i bought it in a lil pot, i thought id have alot more problems tbh. The elodea grows loads upwards but its leaves always look rubbish lol ive had to trim it back twice already it grows so quick :p

i was thinking about adding some really tiny plans to my foregorund or maybe some floating plants for my gouramis?? im unsure on what to look at though and the only decent plant shop i have is pets at home tbh theyre selection is alot better than my other shop... so i dont really wana ask their for advice on plants since the staff are really undertrained in all things fish lol

I love anubias, its so lush and pretty easy, mine are doing well on flourish excel and tpn+....so far lol

Also there is a fab video on here about how to plant all different types of plants and tips on separating and cutting roots etc. You should be able to find it somewhere, I found it a great help as i'm also a beginner in the plant keeping aspect.

Good luck with your buying and planting, thats the fun part :)
