ok so my step bro desided he wanted to "fight" mine an his bettas while i was gone. his is alot bigger then mine. an i guess he forgot about them an got on the computer. i get back home an hes betta is dead in my betta tank with mine. an he got really pissed an told my dad an step mom that i need to buy him a new betta cuz mine killed his. i didnt get in any trouble an hes not aloud to have any more bettas. ive renamed mine Jin(but it sounds like jeen) like the samuri off of Samuri Champloo cuz mine jus got a lil tiny nik on his rear fin an his got completly messed up. i swear mines half piranha.

Best bad news ever? That sounds like entirely bad news. I wouldn't be taking pride in the fact that my fish was tougher, I'd be angry over the death of a fish that could otherwise have lived a long healthy life. But thanks to your brothers stupidity, no longer has that option.

It could very well be your fish floating and all torn up next time, keep him away from your bro.

I deffinately agree with Silver1 here. It was sad that your brother had to be that immature to leave another betta in with yours. Sad...

the name of this forum thing wasnt ment to be like "oh i got a strong betta" it means at least my betta didnt die. i like mine alot more then he would ever have liked his an sence my dad an step mom wont let him keep any more bettas hes got a freakin oscar in a damn 2.5gal an hes wanting to put its 4'' oscar in my 55gal with my 8'' oscar. hes just a retard.

Ah I see, thanks for the clarification. :) I feel sorry for the poor fish your brother keeps.

ya hes such a retard hes 18 a senior in high school has a job an every time i do something like go to the skate part, gym, or get a fish he does the same thing. exsept for taking good care of his pets. i have a bearded dragon in a 45gal(i think thats it) an he got one only he keeps it in a 10. i got a oscar 3 years ago he got one an it died cuz he dried feeding it gold fish food(for about 3 months with not even partial water changes). he got his betta 2 days after mine an has been feeding it the same gold fish food that he fed the oscar. hes just an idiot. i tried putting his oscar in my tank earlier after i said NO an got mad cuz my oscar immidiatly attacked it( he got it out but its kinda beat up) an i told him to give it a salt bath an offered him to use my salt so he goes an adds half the bag to his 2.5gal. so i had to get out my seporater an let him put it in a part of my 55gal with my oscar till tomarrow when im wakin his ass up at Effing 7:30 to clean out his tank so he can get his sickly oscar out of my tank. think its makin my oscar sicks hes gotten kinda pail sencei put the other one in there. :grr:

** EDIT **
HE tried puting HIS oscar in MY tank NOT I tried puting HIS oscar in MY tank.

It serves him right that his betta died rather than yours, IF one of them had to. What an idiot! And do you think he would have given you money for a new betta if YOURS had died? I don't think so.

Do you two have to share a room? If not, I would get a lock or something.

He sounds like he has some serious issues. Maybe he thinks his mom likes you better...I don't know...I don't know him. Try to keep him away from your stuff and animals. I wish I could say you should get his animals away from him, but that would be crossing the line, I think. I have the feeling he won't have those animals for long. The way he is going they will be dead soon.

I've never been so glad I'm an only child.

Put an oscar care sheet, a betta care sheet, and a bearded dragon care sheet in his room where he can see it and highlight the part that has the tank size. Put them in more then one place if you have to. If he can't even feed a betta properly I hate to think what he's doing to that dragon

Oh I see. It's hard when you have a stupid brother that doesn't understand. Luckily my brother is younger than me. And when I was back home I tried to teach him how to care for the animals I had and what they need. He's turned out to be a pretty good kid.
And Alix I'm very glad you didn't follow in your brother's foot steps. And why don't you try the information sheet idea. Or say to him, "You need to take better care of the animals you have now."
But good luck!

ok. im printing off a copy of what every one as said an i am looking for some things about cage sizes for an oscar. dragon. an betta(he had his betta in one of those critter cages that i use to use to keep crickets in for my dragon till i got a 10 to keep ALOT in) an i offered him my betta food an ive tried getting him to go with me to the pet store when i buy food for my oscar or dragon. hes just an idiot.an yes i do have to share a room with him but soon im getting a lock for my dragon an oscar cage but im not sure how ill lock up my betta.
