Before I Change Things

just been abit confused to my temperature changes in my water untill i looked at my tank to work out why, its pretty clear now looking at it as my heater is so close to the intake, would the heated water be getting sucked up and cooling down by the time it comes out the other end, just thought is ask before changing it?

Shouldn't be it. The other side of the coin there is that all the water runs past the heater.

Have you tried angling it slightly? Maybe the heated water is rising up and flicking the thermostat off...

Just a thought. You can always try it by the outlet.

Slanting the heater helps distribute the heat a lot better than if it is vertical, there is a massive possiblity that the termosate is getting flicked off my the heated water rising up.

The water circulating will cool slightly but not enough to make a different to the overall aquarium temp

Just realised that that heater is a Deltatherm from Interpet.
They MUST be slanted or they won't work properly, even says so on the box.

Haha sorry, I didn't mean it to sound as rude as it did.
Only reason I know this btw is because I did the exact same thing and then read the back of the box. Wondered why one section of my tank was 27C and the other was 23 lol.
