I would before too long. Java fern will grow in low light conditions. It has been a while since I had vallis, but as far as I remember it is a little more picky and might not like the shaded conditions which it is being given. Im sure that someone else will confirm or correct me.

Hiya Brian. The tank looks great. Does look like your Java Fern is in the substrate? It needs to have its roots exposed to the water column.

You may find the Cabomba eventually drops to bits, if it does then you could replace it with Limnophila as it looks similar.

Thanks David, I will move it out a bit more forward, I don't want to over ride the "Beach area", and keep an eye on the cabomba, thanks

My cabomba always does really well and I'm trimming it on a weekly basis but after a few months it goes downhill and as you said, falls to bits

Is there a reason for this or is it normal? Explain please!

I believe its because Cabomba actually prefers cold water.
