Hi everyone!
Gettin' real excited!! Going to get a large tank tomorrow as an early 40th B'day pressie! If I set it up in the next few days, will it be ready to put fish in by the end of June? Can I start putting them in before then? :dunno:

Anyway, lookin' forward to getting loads of help and advice from you all (I hope!),
Cheers, Dumbledorian

welcome and early happy birthday :wizard:

have a look throught the begginer posts that are pinned about cycling - that should help you out...

Hi there Dumbledorian!

If you get the tank now, it should definitely be cycled by the end of June. Cycling usually takes two weeks, sometimes less, sometimes more. As smithrc suggested, read the pinned articles about fishless cycling. Fishless cycling takes less time for the bacteria to get established and stabilized, nad once your tank you will be able to stock it fully, as opposed to cycling with fish when you must gradually add fish to the tank.

Happy almost birthday! :) :fun:

Hi Dumbledorian :)

Welcome to the forum! :hi:

There are many friendly fish folks who will be happy to help you get started. Just begin asking questions.
