Barb Sharks

Im just wondering are the silver sharks ' barb sharks '  from the same family has the gold tinfoil barb's ??? I have seen a few gold tinfoil barb's in a shop today and they kind of look alike when small.

are you referring to the bala shark / 'silver shark', or another shark?  the tinfoil barb and the bala shark are both from the melanopterus family and do look quite alike while young, and then the barbs get quite tall as they mature while the sharks are generally more slender and sleek.
