I think it's not the same. From what I understand, you need to add sodium bicarbonate to raise your pH, but most baking powders in addition to sodium bicarbonate contain disodium diphosphate, rice flour and other additives. So it's probably better to stick to the pure sodium bicarbonate, i.e. baking soda / bicarbonate of soda. Most supermarkets should sell them in the UK
Just checked and Sainsbury should have the Dr Oetker brand: http/www.sainsburys.co.uk/groceries/index.jsp?bmUID=1286963465333
this is pure sodium bicarbonateHope that helps!
My tank is 190 litre ph of around 6.5 how many tea spoons would you go with the 1 table spoon per 50 ml so 4 tea spoons? Or would u add 2 test in a few days time.?
Chees guys appreciated!

So from what Waterdrop says, it's roughly between 1.5 and 2 teaspoons per 50 litres.
You have 190 litres so:
190 ÷ 50 = 3.8
1.5 × 3.8 = 5.7
2 × 3.8 = 7.6
So why not try about 6 teaspoons and test the water? It's a rough guide only and you can always add a bit more later.
No, you should be able to test it after only a few minutes. When I was figuring this out on my own tank, I would add some baking soda, wait 10 minutes, and test. Then add more, etc.
In addition to getting pH up in that range, is your tank temp elevated to 29C? That seems to be a good temp for the bacteria colonies.
