Bad Water Change Days.

I know i'm not the only one who has these days?

I've just been doing my 55g and 20g tanks and during that i've managed to spill about 15 litre of water all over the floor, get water all over the floor again from pulling the hose out the tank, mouthful of water, knock a plate off the work top next to the sink - stop the dog eating the broken plate.

I've still got to fill the tanks back up yet too, HELP!! lol.

how may times have i turned the pump on to re fill the tank without actually putting it in the tank and end up flooding my bed... i do water changes when no one else is in now, saves on the shouting lol

One day one day I will manage to do a wc without spilling any water, but it hasn't happened yet...

i managed it last night hose is proving useful, not so sure it will be so useful in the winter though :\

dirted my tank yesterday so did a big water change and by the end of it i think i had more water on my floor then in the tank

I cover my floor in saran wrap and then put towels over to protect the floor. I learned the hard way that the treated water stains the wooden floor! I just take forgranted that I'll spill. I mean I'm only 24, fully developed motor skills is a little too much to ask.

Well i've finished, almost forgot to turn the filter & heater back on though
I think next time i start to do the tanks i'll wait until i'm in a better mood hahaa!!

Note for future reference:
Do not leave gravel vac in tank with the end hanging out, while there is a reasonably mobile baby around. It will result in them sucking on the end of the gravel vac, starting the siphon going, getting a lovely mouthful of tank water and nearly choking and then getting an impromptu shower. Followed by the ultimate humiliation of mummy laughing hysterically at them instead of helping them

In winter, I trickle the water back in over maybe an hour, or add a few buckets of hot as I go I don't mind carrying two or three buckets

Im thinking more of getting the hose from my shed up the stairs etc with ice and snow haha (my garden is down some outside steps

I use the taps in the bathroom and keep the hose in the kitchen
