Bad People

when you go roun there nick fish... and keep nicking them. tell them there dissapering cuz ur not keepin them in good conditions.

i think this is a brilliant idea. sneaky...calculating and most of all, full of karma :)

seriously, these people will not listen until they see the outcome of the things they do. a friend of mine and her husband recently decided they were going to set their old 2' tank up  everything that ever used to go into that tank died. they got 2 axolotls once that died in about 3 months. whatever fish they had when i first met them, they all died and quite quickly too. its basically because they are ignorant, stubborn people who "think" they know about fish. like the other week when i bought my bolivian butterfly and he told me i couldnt keep it in my community tank because it was a coldwater fish

anyhoo they cant be told. i tried telling them the day they set their tank up. same day they went to their lfs to get a heater and filter. or so i thought that was all they were getting but alas, no. they came home with three tiny angel fish, 2 clown loaches, 6 mollies, 10 neon tetras, 2 pristella tetras, 2 bn plecs, 2 male guppies and 4 snails  as soon as i saw the tank i said something but he is convinced he is some kind of expert on fish. according to him water is fine if its clear and believes as long as its clear there musnt be any problems with water stats. he thinks the filter takes out all the bad stuff as soon as you start using it.

i think the best way to try and say more stuff if you want is to use a "story" about this person you overheard at the pet shop and they were saying how all their fish were dying and when they figured out why it was because he had too many fish in a small tank. drop subtles hints all the time to try and educate them a little. better yet, buy them a bigger tank :)

it is hard to know what to say though...i know i couldn't just watch something like that without trying to do something! depends how much you like your cousin lol!!!

Does any one else know what nich them means.

Theres other shady actions that are probably best not mentioned...
Failing that take them to an aquarium shop that has a full grown bala in stock? That'd probably show them what they're in for. Also get a realistic quote for a suitable tank set-up. If they are so deluded as to think they know best (i do that alot  ) rather than just plain cruel, then when they combine the eventual size of the Balas with the cost to come, they'll have to take them back.

LOL they've already seen a full grown Bala Shark. Thier theory is that it's only grow to the size of the tank.(stunted growth)

i have a friend with a 3ft tank that has
2 medium sized parrott fish
4 clown fish
1 bala shark
well over stocked
she doesnt do water tests and hardley ever does water changes, i done a water test in her tank and her nitrates were off the scale so i ordered her to do a 50% water change, but still 2 days later she still hasnt done it, i keep telling her that she could give me her tank but i have no chance of getting it she is in denial
some people just dont want to listen

Well at least you tried and many say the fish only get as big as the tank, perhaps we should keep cod well they don't get too big well not as big as the sea.
