I bought a 55 gallon tank recently and was surprised it included 5 neons, 4 cardinal tetras, and 2 glowlight tetras. I have 15 white cloud minnows that I would like to mix with them to give me a free tank. Would this be a situation where the neons would be overwhelmed?

wouldn't like to say for definate but I've got 8 white clouds with my 13 neons and there have been no issues. One of the clouds prefers to shoal with the neons for some odd reason but nobody bothers each other, even when the clouds have their spats the neons don't seem to care.

I personally would not have too many concerns mixing them together for a couple of months at tropical temps if needs be, but after that I would want to get the WCMM back in a heaterless tank that is sub-tropical, dropping down to ~18C.

Ahh... very good and thank you guys- I was worried the clouds"robust" habits swimming and swarming might intimidate the tetras a bit too much. I feel I can at least give it a try for now. And yes, I feel bad about the warmth in the house.. living in Florida in summertime is a little rough on them. Thank you.. Jim

Had you thought about putting white clouds outside in a big tub somewhere shady? They do very well like that, if you thought it would be cooler?

For Fluttermoth... Hadn't considered that, but sounds like something I'm going to look into. Thank you, Fluttermoth! Jim
