Yes. You can get good bacteria from any established tank. Anything that has a surface will give you bacteria. I would go after filter material first. then gravel. then plants and ornaments.
HTH :)

 my ammonia levels are very high and i've been doing a 10 to 15 % water change every day! checked the ammonia level after and its the same, my fish seem ok, cut back on feeding but how much can I cut back on that, they look at me with those sad eyes FEED ME FEED ME! Its a planted tank 3 rotalias, 2 hornswart and some sword grass?

What size tank, and how many/what kind of fish?

You need to resists falling for those  sad feed me eyes!! Feed very lightly, whatever they can eat in 30 seconds, a maximum of once per day. Every other day would be OK too, since your ammo levels stay so high. Fish can actually go days w/o food, so it might be a good idea to go a few days w/o feeding them 'til the ammo level comes down a bit.

Good luck!!
