Bacteria Build Up

alright, ill relocate it but can someone answer my original questions? whats filter media? how fast does bacteria grow, and do i need to crank up the heat?

Bacteria grows faster at highter temps, so if there no fish in turn temp up.

Filter media is whatever goes inside the filter; sponges etc. No need for carbon, though. Dump it and use more sponges.

were talking about a carnival goldfish. the black widows have been in there for three months with the mollie and the gourami absoulutley no amonia nitrie or nitrate problems. the only problem ive ever had is algae from being under a window.

Goldfish given away as prizes almost always tend to be comet or common goldfish, both of which can grow to over 12inches long and will eat any other fish they can fit into their mouths.

With the bacteria thing, are growing this bacteria in a completely new tank which has no fish in it, or your current 12gallon or what?
