This little thing got separated from its mother and a herd of about twenty white tail deer that were in the field next to my house. The fawn likes my yard.

Either mom is gone, or he has gotten up because someone disturbed him. Most of the time they just lay on the ground and wait for mom to return. Mom still might return.

LOL! I DO believe @GaryE made the comment in regards to the Disney movie, Bambi.

I live next to a nature reserve and LOVE deer even if they are often a pain. I was in the reserve with my camera and just about stepped on this newborn. Snapped of a shot and got out of there as there was a rustling in some bushes which was most likely a not happy mom. Don't want to mess with a mama deer, they will tear you apart.
