im not really new to fish keeping but im not a wealth of knoledge either

my question is id love a black background for my cichlid tank but the amount of money ive just spent it seems a silly thing to do is go and paint it so what is the best way of attaching a backgroung without blue tack for example ive heard of cooking oil and all sorts anyone have an opinion?

cheers gaz

SeaView Gel but finding a good delivery cost is stupid. im tempted to try cooking oil.

Have you already bought a background? I use posterboard for my tanks and just attach with double-stick tape. I like it better than the store bought ones which I think are too shiney, posterboard is much cheaper too. :good:

Lol... uh I just use the background that the lfs sells by foot on a roll. Cut it and use some tape to hang it.
