Baby Channel Catfish

Could a person keep 4 baby channel catfish in a 55 gallon tank until they're big enough to put in a pond. (So they don't get eaten...)
I think they would be like two or three inches?

i think it would be fine as long as the water is kept clean, and medium to high current so that they feel that they have more space to swim.. working out and not feel the size difference to much to what they should have.
because of the size that they are now there shouldn't be an issue as long as you don't have fish that would go after them in the tank.

I'm probably not going to do it... but it'd be nice to have some albino cats in my dads pond.

You could do that. They get big fast, though. Be prepared to give them up when they are about 4-5 inches.
