i have some snails on my tank glass, bout 5. i cant put a name to them, there gold, with anteners, and i cant really tell about the shell. but the body that sticks to the glass is bigger than the shell. about 5mm diameter. any help?

If they are actually a true gold color than they could be baby Golden Inca snails which are in the Apple Snail family. I have two of these snails who are adults and they are beautiful and fasinating. They grow to the size of a golf ball and they do not reproduce like the pest snails. You would have to have a male and a female and the female will lay her eggs above the water line so they can easily be removed if you do not want additional snails. Apple Snails are totally non aggressive and I consider them an asset to aquariums as they clean are a useful cleaning crew.

yeh, but i had no apple snails in the fist place, these either came from the plants or shop water..

and u say that they grow to golf balls. how long would it be untill i start to notice that they are apple snails and no common tank snails?

I have a snail that is supposed to be a gold Inca, and it really LOOKS like one, except that it has grown from the size of a golf ball to the sixe of a peach!!!

It's huge, but DARN if it isn't the most interesting and entertaining creature inthe tank.
