well my orange swordtail is very boxy like she gonna burst i'm just on tender hooks awaiting my new fry to come......I've plants in the main aquarium for the fry to hide out but they usually disregarde that and hide behind my bio life filter  a bugger to net em all.

Just performed a 1/3 water change as i've heard that mums to be like fresher water to deliver in and it was due for a change. I been giving her extra food to nourish the fry and to keep her in good health.

My oldest swordy died recently from old age so its her now thats taken the top dog position!!!!! :D

So this is my first batch of orange swordy fry...... i have a good black swordie female that gives me fry each month so far..... Discovered that my male in tank upstairs is in fact infertile!!!

As miss orange only became pregnant when i moved her 5-6 weeks ago!!!

Hope you don't have to wait long, good luck.

Thx wilder im hoping to buy a smallish tank to raise the fry up in as the breeder nets are getting abit full..... as i've just had;-

Batch of sunset Platy Fry - 3weeks old
Batch of Calico Platy Fry - 3weeks old
Batch of Black Swordtail Fry - 2weeks old

So doing well in the breeding department..... also just noticed some Corydoras eggs on the back of aquarium next to the outlet nozzle of my 104 external filter, they look fertile this time round.

:D pretty chuffed.

If you have the room and money go for a 10 gal ideal for fry, as the water soon gets polluted in smaller tank, with all the feeding.

Ok whats 10 gal in inches???? 18 inch x 12inch x 12 inch approx

Thinking of adding my remaining sand as a bottom substrate and a few live plants..... Obviously the lighting is important in this case.

Dunno whether i should be aiming for just a tank+lid or whether it be cheaper to go for a whole set up.

This is a rekord 60 by juwel roughly a 12gal.61 x 31 x 36 cm -
