Hey, I just received my automatic feeder in the mail along with a few other goodies
So I opened it up and read the instructions, and they were pretty useless.
It is a Hobby Toppy Automatic Fish Feeder.
Has anyone ever used one of these before that could help me set it up?
Thanks in advance :good:

I've just gone over the instructions.
they seem straight forward.

where are you having problems?

Thanks.
How do you position it though? Nothing came with it to hold it in place..

aha. you need to buy one. or make one. or, as i would,. send the useless thing back (unfit for purpose). and, if you have to, buy a quality one. or at least one that comes complete.
though, if you have a centre brace, it will sit happy on that.

Ok, thanks for your help, I'll see what I can do

These things are pretty much useless. How long will you be away from your fish? These tend to get gummed up because of the humidity, and also the food tends to go moldy inside them for the same reason.

If you're going to be gone for less than two weeks, you should be able to leave your fish without food.

Im only going away for 3 days, but they are my fry, and I dont want to leave them with out any food :/

Honestly, they'll be fine.

I'm going away for 5 days next week, and I have 4 tanks that will go without food. One of the tanks has lots of fry. I have no worries!

Would a slow release feeder be ok?
I have a few for my other tanks, it's a Tetra Weekend Tropical Slow Release Feeder gel block.. Would that be alright to put in the tank just in case?

I once used those and when I came back from my trip they were covered with mold. But if you feel better using them, go for it.

Well, I have used one of these before, and it worked pretty well - definetly no mold on it.
I guess I could try, it's only a few days I guess
