Hi all.

I am going to attempt to attach some plants to some bog wood and was wondering what was Tue best way to go about this?

Do I just position the plant to the wood where I want it and wrap it with an elastic band or thread?

May be a daft question, but iv never attempted this before and want to get it right..... 1st time preferably :)

Cheers

I prefer to use a bit of superglue. If you go that route, ensure the only ingredient listed on the pack is cyanolate (the spelling might be wrong though!). This is known to be aquarium safe. If it lists any other ingredients then avoid.

Ah, never thought of that. But how will the roots grow if there glued? and what if/when the plant dies, is is easy enough to get it off if its glued?

you don't need to glue all of the roots. I assume you are attaching either java fern or anubius? If so, a couple of spots of glue on the rhizome will suffice, then just hold in place on the wood until the glue sets. Eventually the glue will deteriorate but by that time the roots should have taken hold.

If the plant dies then it can be easily removed from the surface with minimum force.
