I added an Asian Fan Shrimp (bamboo shrimp) to my 240 litre tank on Tuesday along with 6 x lake kutubu rainbowfish - all of which were ordered online.

When I saw the shrimp he was much smaller than I thought he would be maybes 3-4 cm.

The thing is I haven't seen him since - I have 10 amano shrimp in the tank as well and see them on a daily basis.

I have a nice flow set up in readiness for the Asian shrimp - but I am now starting to worry.

Is this normal? will he starve? any ideas?

and he wasn't cheap £8.95

I really hope the little guy is just acclimitising

I would not worry just yet, I have two in my tank and when I fish put them in the tank I didnt see them for about a week, I guess they were just taking time to settle in because after that they are always out and about searching for the best place to perch so they get a nice flow over there fans! Also mine are about 2 inches so you may just have young ones.

Also when I first got them I was advised to spot feed them but I have never done this and they have been fine for 6+ months. Funny things to look at but cool all the same :good:

Thanks, for the reply, was starting to worry, I have moved a rock bridge right in front of a filter outler so there is a good flow directed onto it, hopefully he will use it as a feeding spot and I will get to see him.
