Asian Bio Type

wanted to create a bio type aquarium for a while now,
was thinking why not go for an asian bio type after another user mentioned it to me

searched the internet although i dont think im searching the right thing because i cant find much info, can anybody tell me some bottom dwelling fish species, about the only one i know is khuli loaches but only having a 64L tank im wondering if it will be big enough to house a small group of khuli's ?

also can anybody name me some plants that would work in an asian bio type? im not totally sure on which plants are asian ones or not so a little help would be nice :good:

There doesnt seem to be too much choice in plants, though saw pictures of some floating plants that looked suspiciously like salvina natans.

I will keep looking up more information... you are limited by the size of the tank though...

But H.espei rasbora and Sparkling Gouramis are amazing fish!

There dont appear to be too many fully aquatic plant species because of the floods from the Mekong River (which is mainly the area you would be looking for in the biotope) because there is a lot of mud and silt in the water for a lot of the year which stops the plants.. and there are a lot of wet lands with semi aquatics plants, though no good to you.

One little goby species from the mekong river is the Glass Goby (Gobiopterus chuno) grows to a max of 3cm, is completely see through but lower dwelling and i have seen them in the trade before and certainly on the availability lists anyway!

thanks MBOU i did a bit more research today, found out that i could use the rotala and crypt species as a lot of what i read said these plants can be found in asia, i seen a few pics as well most of them included a lot of twisted vallisneria some included some of the hygrophila species too, although im not 100% sure if it was accurate info or not, i would like to have some plants in the set up though, thanks for the reply though :good:
