Well we need alot more information on size of tank in gallons or litres, plus full fish stock of how many and which kind, plus water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Its a 5-7 inch baby arowana in a 10 gallon tank. (going to upgrade as it grows)
I dont know the water stats, i dont have a test kit.
I read on the other topic about sand. So i got some pool filter sand and switched fomr gavel to sand today. My plecos are in the same tank and they are doing fine, its juss the baby aro
Sadly that tank is way to small for that fish they need very large tanks, do a water change immediately, and take the fish back to the lfs as it should never be in a tank that size even as a baby.
no, you are asking them to take it back because you cant house an arowana in a 10 gallon. if you cant get a tank over 125 gallons, you cant house an arowana
The info you have given is way too vauge to make a diagnosis. All i can tell you is he is stressed. Possibly from being kept in a 10 gal tank, possibly from poor water quality, possibly from an illness. We need more info to help.
Are there any physical changes? Any other signs of illness? How is the temperature in your tank? Does your water have a low KH? How long has this tank been set up for?
You really do need to get your water tested, knowing that would be very very very useful.
Are there any other fish in there besides teh arowana and pleco?
Yea it was a big temperature change. The tank is normally in 78-80 degrees farenheit, i had new water in wit the same filter and i added the liquid thing * that water cycle thing and heater and left the water there for ab 3 hours before putting the fish back in.
