Meaty foods. Also insect like crickets. I would buy a good quality floating predator food and supliment it with with meaty treats like prawns mussel and things like that. when i say meat i mean fishy stuff not beef and pork. Mealworms and crickets or a good idea. You could get some floating plants and place meal worms on them for a bit of stimulation for the fish. i want to ask you how big your tank is but its not really my business
Asking more information is always more important...
Size of the tank may reveal why the fish isnt eating or might mean different foods (sinking or floating) would be better or it might explain why the fish might not be getting food if its being outcompeted...
Or more likely still, why te tank might be unsuitable = fish doesnt want to eat...
Im not saying its true in this case, no one is assuming so, but if we dont ask... we dont know and for a fish that gets HUGE, is very delicate, very predatory, very prone to feed ONLY on life food when young....
Its important to knw all the additional information.
Its not people being nosey, its people trying to help, maybe its not best explained but when people are writing a quick answer when passing through forums, to have to list every possibility is a real pain and when in a hurry, maybe the OPs feelings arent necessarily the first thing to worry about... answering the question itself is..
Yes i agree but technically on these kind of sites we have the option to give advice that is asked for, and where as i see where your coming from and i do understand where your coming from, i personally dont always like asking extra questions as it really isnt my business. Unless asking a new question will help me answer the original question. I just feel like if i was the original poster i would be thinking your comment isnt very helpful as it isnt what i asked. But on the other hand i understand y u asked it
