Armored Catfish Swimming Upside Down

Hi all,

MY wife noticed that one of our armored catfish was coming up to the top of the tank and gulping in lots of air. After about 15 mins it then started to swimming
/float on it's back, belly in the air.

I had a closer inspection and it seems to have a distented stomach and a small amount of blood coming of the anus, which also seems to be blowing out air.


Any ideas what is up , please!!!

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
The fish is unwell and not going to make it I would end his misery.

Distented not sure what that means do you mean a sunken it belly or bloated appearance.
