Hi i ,need enough sand for my 110l ,but at pets at home they1re charging £4.25 per 2kg,will argos play sand be alright ,if not can anyone reccomend another cheap alternative?

Yeah Argos playsand is great apparently. Everyone on here raves about it! I'm going to use it for my tank soon :)

Just worried how long it will take to clear and whether th is w ill have an effect on my filter and fish ,as pets at home sand took over a day to clear ,although i cleaned it well?

Just wash it really well, it's inevitable that you'll get some clouding, though when I used Toysrus sand it didn't even need washing, I put it in and there was no clouding, it might vary per batch though.

I just picked up 20kg from Tesco for £4. On offer, normally £2.87 per 10kg bag.

Playsand is awsome. Looks great, is safe for kids so is extra safe for fish & is cheap as somthing that doesnt cost a lot.

Tom :good:

Thanks for that ,please let me know if it clouds the water ,just looked at argos sand seems too dark,is the tesco one lighter?

I've heard of people having major problems with their external filter when using playsand.

Thanks ,i know that when i change over from gravel to sand ,and put all my fish in buckets ,i just have to place the filter in a bucket [not turned on ],to keep media wet.

Argos play sand is deff not dark, not the bags ive had. In
