Argos Play Sand - Advice Wanted

oooh theyre a nightmare! i have to chop and sift the sand through the net.

if i didnt have the plecs, the sand would be a piece of pee to clean!

i bought the argos play sand and it does the job perfectly, my plecos love it! thing is, as it has been said already, plecs poop alot so its a pain to keep clean, and i have 4 plecos now.lol. i kinda wish i didnt go down the sand route tbh. im going to convert to some gravel thats 3 x the grain size of sand

so overall, yes the argos sand is great,cheap and looks good too but im guessing with all sand substrate its hard to keep clean, especially when the plecos and corys bury there poop whilst looking for food! my sand has been in the tank for about 2 weeks but i bet if i removed it and cleaned it, it would be disgusting

as long as you are happy to vac the sand several times a week, thats great! otherwise, stick to gravel and save alot of frustration.
