Argh! They're Driving Me Mad!

Hi guys, as the heading says my guppies are driving me mad. I've done my water change/maintenance this morning and found a dead female guppy. She was alive when I went to bed so she must've died in the night or this morning.

She was heavily pregnant.

Right now the two remaining males are being absolute pigs with all my female fish - even the platies don't escape. The whole air in the tank seems stressed.

So, I have a small 26 litre hexagonal tank, a spare heater and semi working filter and a bubble stone. I'm beginning to think I should re-set it up and move the guppies into there. I'm so sick of them (the males mostly) that I could be cruel and knock em on the head from time to time.

Question is, should I just move the males or shove the two remaining females in with them and let em fight it out. I know it sounds callous but I really don't care if they kill each other I just don't want my platies harressed and my cories getting stressed aswell.

So, pigged off right now (guess I needed a bit of a rant!)

If the male platys don't bother the female guppies, leave the females in the tank and move the male guppies out.

I think this happens to everyone who keeps livebearers eventually they start off all lovely and colourful and active, but by god they're annoying.

Could there be something going on with the water? Maybe they are being more "annoying" because they are uncomfortable?

got the 26 litre up and running now, it's just coming up to temperature. The water is fine Rummynose, had about 50% change this morning cos I'd come to the end of my gill fluke treatment.

The platies just bimble about harming no-one. The male platy is like my old one and layed back, doesn't do harressing to anyone.

Anyway, the males are going in shortly - once the temp looks better. It's about 22 at the moment so another 2 degrees and in they go. I'll see how the females are once the boys have gone. I'm convinced that it was the males behaviour that killed that female over night. Both the females are pregnant but still they won't leave them alone.

ideally, yes but I don't want anymore guppies. I'm loving my cories and my platies and maybe once my platy babies have been sexed and seperated I might try something else ... what I don't know yet

They're in and it's amazing how quickly the atmosphere in the main tank has changed. Instead of zooming round looking stressed it gone to a calm swim from one side to the other in no time at all.

I don't think the male guppies are very impressed with me right now

they're swimming round looking for something to fight, rape and pillage and finding nothing put a filter, a heater, a couple of raggy plants and gravel.

I'm cruel arn't I?!

Update:

I found one of the males dead last night. The remaining one is now stressed out and I'm thinking about moving him back to the main tank and hope he behaves himself now his mate has gone.
