Are Zebra Danio's Compatible With Gouramis?

Hi there,
My sister has zebra danios and bought some dwarf gouramis yesterday. Unfortunately one of them she bought died.
My question is are they compatible? From what i've read, zebra danios are very active fish and the gourami is a shy fish that can be startled easily.
So do you think thats why one of her gouramis could have died? Would the zebra danios be putting too much stress on them as they are so active?

It is possible but it is also quite likely that the gourami would have died anyway. Dwarf gouramis have a lot of health problems, the breed itself is very weakened through bad breeding and a large percentage of them also carry a virus that is a killer. Practical Fishkeeping Magazine are actually recommending people not to buy dwarf gouramis at the moment, and we have many members on here who've had bad experiences. Thick-lipped gouramis are still said to be ok.
