No, assuming the GH and pH of the water are high enough for livebearers; a few branches or chunks of wood willnot alter the GH/KH/pH.

pH is 7.2 def, GH is 16 and KH is 8, but I'm not sure..

OK, I asked because the GH and KH work to "buffer" the water, and these numbers are high enough that they will do it. So you could add all the wood you want, and never make a dent in the GH, KH or pH.
