Hello,
I just wanted to know if these patches are normal on plecos? Should I be concerned?

Colors are part of camaflouge. Perfectly fine. Try placing some pleco wafers or a cucumber/zucchini slice out at night when other fish are sleeping for him to eat. You can sink the veggie by sticking it on a fork.

Looks like natural coloration to me.

Will you please include more pictures of the fish from the side?

Some members are saying it looks malnourished, but it doesn’t to me. ?

I only see one member saying it looks malnourished. I agree more pics are needed as the plant conceals the body.

Ok I appreciate the replies, I will increase the frequency of feeding. I was giving it a pleco wafer every other day , I figured it was getting enough from the tank algae and the uneaten food. Typically how many algae wafer should I be giving it?

BN's are omnivores and need protein as well. Bloodworms, shrimppellets etc....

The colors are in fact "stresscolors" that show often when it has left its hidingplace and is out in the open (especially on light / bright substrate)
