Hi TFF,
I recently bought some female dalmatian mollies and noticed that they seemed a little plump.
i tried to check for a black spot but i couldn't get a good angle and didn't want to physically hold the fish and take them out of the tank, because if they are pregnant i don't want to stress them.

no no no you never pick up a fish out of the tank thats a big big no no,post a pic and i will be able to help i have 3 dalmatian mollys females

Your dalmatian mollies will be pregnant and soon you will hve fry,
at least 99% of female livebearers from a pet shop will be pregnant.

well some times fish48 it depends on the store and where the fish are from ,so breeders seprerate the fish when they become sexually mature, some don't but i have began to notice stores putting males and females in different tanks, don't get me wrong still the majority of places the fish are already pregnant

It Was a petsmart....they keep all the compatible fish together regardless of gender.

looks pregnant to me :) but still more time to drop

You may want to try adding a tank divider. I don't recommend a breeder net or box at all, it causes way too much stress which can result in fry abort or death to her.

I like to keep my expectant females in a 10 gallon or larger birth tank. The end result, with a well fed female, can look like this the day she drops her fry.

To have a photobucket picture show up here, or at many other forums for that matter, copy the link that they call IMG code and paste it into the forum text post as if it was just some more text. The end result is a picture instead of text in the final post. It even looks as if the picture is kept right here.
