Are My Choices For A First Time Setup Ok So Far?

Do not put neon tetras in with a Stingray filter. Its terrible design traps small fish at the back.I replaced mine with an Aquaball 60.

I've decided against the Stingray now and the two filters I have in mind are the Fluval U2 and the Eheim Pick Up 2010. The Eheim has a higher LPH but is adjustable so shouldn't be a problem. Both are the same price on Ebay, if not a £1 cheaper for the Eheim and if what I've learnt so far about Eheim is true, they are to be trusted.

Can anyone with experience with either of those two filters tell me if they're suited to a 51gal<(oops, LITRES!) tank with small fish?

If you mean 51l i would recommend the Aquaball 60.I have had corys in my tank since the beginning and they only started to lay eggs after i changed filters.According to more experienced people than me Corys laying means excellent water quality.I have no experience of the 2 filters you mention but thought i would give you my tuppence worth.:)

Thanks I'll check that one out! And yes I meant 51 litres lol oops!
