Are My Ammonia Bacteria Established?

So, here's a question....Once the tank is completely cycled - nitrite 0 and ammonia 0. Do you still need to continue adding ammonia to feed the bacteria until you put fish in your tank (let's say if you're having something special ordered?)

Yes you do, you need the ammonia to keep the becteria alive until you get the fish.

Add ammonia up until the day before you get your fish. If your going on Saturday, add it on Friday, check the parameters Saturday morning to make sure they are 0 and get the fish. If you don't continue to feed, the bacteria will start to die off.
