i'm treating for fin and tail rot and columnaris (body fungus) on a male rosy barb.

are maracyn and maracyn-two sensitive to light? should i keep the tank light off while treating?

also, is it safe to leave a filter cartridge with 6-month old activated carbon in the filter during treatment?

I have never heard of Any med being Light sensitive. If you leave the lights off, the fish wont be as stressed. Activated carbon is really only effective for the first 2 weeks, quite frankly, i wish they never added it to filters. I would recommend a good sized water chagne before the treatment, it will help them get cured faster.
