Arcadia Lighting

Still waiting for this silly filter, taking ages!!! Ordered it on sunday, i'm just impatient!!
Got the eco-complete down very well after a rough start!! I can fully install the lighting when I get the new filter after running for a few days!
Here's a pic of the tank now....still looks rusty and i have new plants which will hopefully fill out the corner, I'll remove the floating plant soon...I'm now looking for the carpeting plant.....

Ooo, forgot to say I'm adding some more fast growers to keep algae at bay!! Are there any other tips for reducing algae outbreaks? Apart from livestock that is

Not really, lots of plants. If you can put up with it I'd leave the floating plant it can only help, floating plants are great for algae busting. You WILL get algae, every new tank gets algae, just keep up the water changes and you'll come out the other side smelling of roses :) but it will take weeks so dont get disheartened :) I redid my 20g low light and even though I upped the lighting the mass of plants and regular water changes have sorted the algae, apart for a 'final' wave, charge of the light brigade stylie by the algae after the redo, there has been getting less and less ever since. Just keep removing the affect stems/leaves. And you'll get there in the end.

Remember we looking for stability, whatever that might be.

Keep us posted. You running/going to run a journal?
