AR mini

I have looked at several information sources and they nearly all say you can’t get good results with AR mini if you’re not using a high tech setup. Mine are doing well in both of my tanks. The light on my 75 gallon is simple t8 LEDs rated at 6500k. The light on the 14 gallon is a Fluval plant 4.0. The AR in the 14 is showing better colors but both are doing well. Do any of you have similar experience? Pic is from the 14.

AR Mini doesn't strictly need a high-tech setup. Plenty of people grow it without CO2, but growth is slower and the color is usually less intense. The difference between your two tanks is typical. The Fluval Plant 4.0 has a spectrum and intensity built for plants, and red stem plants tend to color up under stronger light. Plain 6500K LEDs can keep it healthy but often give greener, less compact growth.
Nutrients also matter for color. AR Mini is a heavy root feeder, so root tabs and some iron and micronutrient dosing usually help red tones, especially in a low-tech tank.

The 75 is 50/50 organic potting soil (sifted) and fluval stratum with fine gravel cap. The 14 is straight fluval stratum with thin sand cap. I kind of figured the lights were the difference. All plants in both tanks are growing very well.
