Aquarium Salt And Plecos

I know this is a debated one and have seen several discussions in the past but can't remember what who why when...LOL

None of my fish are sensitive to salt except maybe my Sailfin Pleco. Dosage on box says 1 tablespoon for every 5 gallons,. If I were to half the dose, every 10 gallons.....would that be okay ?

Also, does carbon filter the salt out of the water ? Thanks

I'm not 100% on the salt question, however I can answer your 2nd question: No carbon does not take salt out of the water.

To assist treating Ich or some type of protozoan disease.....otherwise I don't need it.
