Hi all,

can anyone suggest a type of rock i can use in my aquarium that will be available to buy off the internet. I want brighter colours like red and white. If you can pleasew give me the name of it.

Thanks guys

its used to keep ph high..
so its not a good rock for using with fish that like more acidic water

just find any igneous rocks..
basically not porous rocks you can find them on a beach or on a river bank..

Hi, fish.com1
If you know what granite look like, that's a good safe one which may contain both red and white, depending.
You don't want anything that'll leach iron into your water column or stain your gravel with rust either.

granite, slate, bluestone. there are auctions on ebay for each of those.

Sounds obvious, I know, but if you have a smaller tank, use a few small rocks. In a smaller tank, a large rock will displace a LOT of water.

For shades of red, volcanic lava rock is a good choice. Most red colored rock contains iron and is not a real good choice for a tank. For white rocks, the ones that are white silica are best and the white limestone is obviously not a good idea. A side note is that marble is pretty much limestone.
