Aquarian Fish Food

You could try putting it in an air tight container. Havn't tried it myself but might do the trick.

I have no idea why 2 posts have just appeared.

Yeah try keeping the silver lid thing (that you have to tear open to get to the food) covering it aswell as making sure the main lid is tight. If it gets damp it all sticks together and turns icky!!

If you are using flake and or granuals then you need to keep it dry. If you are storing on your aquarium hood than that is a humid place and should be avoided. Also make sure your fingers are dry (although it is better to shake a quantity into the lid then tip it in the tank) and refit the lid. :good:

Hi, will i have to throw the food away if it goes soggy?

Kind Regards, Richard

I always buy the small tubs of food, when i open i peel back the foil lid a tiny little bit (just enough to get my fingers in) and keep it away from damp and in a dark cupboard.
I only buy small tubs because if i got food left after 8-10 weeks I feel that the vitamin content and freshness has gone and usally feed to my pond fish the leftovers

Mine did use to go soft and as i dont use that much and it lasts ofr ages this time i got some airtight containers and labels to stick it in. Hasnt happened since. As the airtight pots cost less then £1 worth putting it in there. Will keep the dried food much better then the pots.

I have had aquarian cichldi pellets sitting on top of my fish tank for a year, I dont usre because my fish like flake better, and it is always open and it is stil as hard as it was when I bought it. Also when it is soft it is easier for the fish to digiest it.

You could try sticking gel crystal packets at the top of the lid.
This absorbs all the humidity within the container.

if it gets damp I would think it would start to rot like any food
