Ok, first things first..... an AquaOne rep or anything, just a VERY happy AquaOne owner! :big_boss: I have the 850 and would like to hear the likes :hyper: and dislikes :grr: from Owners, NOT jealous critics! Tips and hints etc on styling and filtrations. :good: Just a bit of fun so keep it

I've had juwel tanks since they came out here... and before that the clearseal classic range.

my dad had a hagen tropiqaurium 88 which he upgraded to the aquaone... TBH i think it does the job and nothing more. the build quality is questionable throughout.

however, if you get on well with yours, then thats what matters.

Yup, I know what you mean by build quality. I sent a couple back, one 'cos of scratches in the canopy and buzzing lights. The sealant isn't always pretty but I've got a really good one now (I was lucky as main office and workshop is local) I love the filter being in the hood as you can tweak it without disturbing the fish and not mess about with pipes and external canisters etc. Hey, me too on the Juwel, can't fault 'em!

I own the Aquastart 500 which is my first Tropical tank and I absolutely love it :)

The only grumble I have is to do with the lights in the hood :(
The problem is that it is hard to find replacements for these and also to find an upgrade as the ones supplied don't really "cut the mustard" for growing plants.

Aside from that it is a really good tank and I will probably stick with the Aquaone series when I begin to look into getting a much larger tank

I have an aqua one 24 inch reflector light and it seems to be working really well. No problems so far.

i've got a 500 too. Only thing I have found is that the lights are a bit too bright for my fish. When the lights are on the fish very rarely go above half way, and the second they are turned off they all start swimming to the top of the tank.

Yup!
I like them. I have an Aqua one regency 100 as my main tank, just love those curved edges!
And I would like to get the euroview (open top) tank as well but I am resisting at the moment because of two niggles with the tank I already have.
Niggle 1. the lights supplied only give me about 1 WPG and because of the design of the hood I can't see any way of increasing that. The open top tank is surely designed for the planted tank enthusiast and yet as far as I can see the fittings that come with it only supply 1WPG.
Niggle 2. The aqua one external canister is, I think, a bit noisy and it stupidly doesn't have any way of shutting off the water in the pipes (only at the filter lid) so every time you decide to clean the filter there is inevitably quite a bit of water spilt before (in my case) you get the two adapted wine bottle corks stuck in the pipes.
But they do look good, hope you enjoy yours

My aqua one CF1200 cannister filter is silent once it's primed. The only time it's noisy is if some air gets trapped. As for the taps, they unscrew from the filter, just turn them off then unscrew the taps leaving the pipes sealed and no mess. :)

My tank is a regal 120, the only thing I don't like about it is the depth, would have preferred an 18 inch height to a 26 inch just so I don't have to do all the maintenance since noone else in the house can reach the bottom of the tank when it's on it's stand :/ Overall tho, I'm very happy with the tank.

I believe you have the under gravel filter system....hows that going? All my filtration is in the hood (850

Yes those frameless curved corners do it for me too! You have gone for the external filtration unlike my canopy version. They cater for us all. I am not too keen on 'open top tanks' They do look good but not in favour of the tank being open, hey that's just me!

I have the Windsor 66 180l. and think its great. Weve had no problems with cf1000 external filter. There wasn't any instructions with it intially so we had to guess setting it up but its now been up and running for a year and cleaning its quite simple and straight forward. I did have the AR380 tank but i've since given that to my dad after he hassled me for it and had no issues with that at all.

This was my first attempt at a Tropical tank so when I purchased the kit from my LFS I was not aware of how unpopular and outdated the UGF systems have become. I have to say that it has done really well and have not had any problems as such to report yet. The water is clear and the fish seem to be very happy, have been doing about 20% water changes a week.

I just recently added a Eheim 2213 Classic to run in tandem with the UGF as I will be just slightly overstocking my tank when I add a small group (6) of either Tetra's or Rasbora's.
