Afternoon All,

I've just received some of the above products for my newly planted 65 litre tank and was wondering about dosing.

The bottle for the nourish states 5ml per 20 gallons which works out at ~1ml per 18 litres so for ease I'm either going to be dosing 3 or 4ml is it better to dose slightly above or below the recommended amount?

The Carbon works out at 1ml per 50 litres so I'll dose either 1 or 2ml, again should I go under or over the recommended amount?

Cheers

Jon

Ferts you can go over. If you can give the analysis off the bottle so we know what's in it we can say for sure.
You probably can with the Carbon too, but that would be up to you.
If you're dosing Carbon you'll need to use the Nourish+ as well. Again, I don't know what's in it so not sure on strength.

IMO

Thanks for the quick reply. I wasn't sure if I'd need the Nourish+ I'll get a bottle next time I put an order in probably be next month now.

Jon

If I were you I'd not use the Carbon if your not using the Nourish+ other wise the plants will be searching for it more, the Carbon is 1ml per 50L daily but I was dosing 4ml daily in my 60 to keep the algae away till I went with pressurised but now I still dose 1ml per day in case, nourish you want 4ml daily in there and nourish+ 8ml daily as its double dose so order twice as much of the +. I use this range and my plants look better than ever.

Cheers Steve

I was hoping to start using the Carbon to help with my algae will I be OK for a month or so with just the Nourish and 1ml of Carbon daily?

Cheers

Jon

I wouldn't use the Carbon at all mate, the plants will be looking for N&P but they wont get it, its tough really as I don't know whether its worth the plants suffering to help the algae issue, what algae is it?

Ok cheers Steve, I ordered the twin pack of Nourish and Carbon from them as it said you only needed Nourish+ if you had high light, heavy planting or were using CO2 (I assumed they meant gas).

How badly would the plants suffer?

It's hair algae mate.

Cheers

Jon

You could take out the plants that have hair algae on and dip them in a solution of aqua carbon and water for a minute, add them back in to your tank and just dose nourish till the + turns up and you may find it kills it quick, it will turn reddish if its dying but may take a few days to show. Thing is some plants that you do this too may loose the leaves you dip, such as Crypts, Ferns and Swords but you might be lucky.

Cheers mate, I'll just use the Nourish for now and start dosing the carnon next month when I get some Nourish+.

Will I notice any difference in plant health/growth with just Nourish?

Cheers

Jon

Depending on your water hardness they may look greener if it has magnesium in it. :good:
