Aqua Cf700 Media

Ive got an aqua cf700 external filter but it came with no media in the baskets.
Can anyone please let me know what media I would need and in what order.

Im also looking for one "O-Ring" from the baskets as one is missing.

Filter Spares/ Sponges etc - This site is where i bought my spares from for my Aquis advanced 1050 until i noticed my LFS stocks it!


In my filter i have 2 baskets. The bottom one has the Biomax with the blue sponge and the second basket has the black sponge with the wool on top of it. From what i can remember anyway or was it the black sponge on the bottom hmm

I think the space below is just for the water flow etc mine has space there under the last basket. some people put water buffers in the baskets also to raise/lower Ph but im not familiar with that. Hopefully someone will be along in a mo who has used this filter to advise what exactly you need

but that spares site i give shows the accessorys for your filter so may give some clues anyway

Yes, the space below is just left empty for water. The bottom tray right above that could hold Eheim "Mech" (a ceramic ring mechanical media that is nice because the inside diameter is larger than many other types of ring media) capped by a coarse sponge (you'd have to cut that from a sheet of coarse.) The next tray up could hold a biomedia like Seachem Matrix capped by a medium sponge (some LFS will have big sheets of sponge or often you can find some other brand that makes the right stuff in a size that can be cut down.) The top tray could hold more Matrix (or some smaller grained biomedia) capped by polyfloss.

This is just an example of how you can customize. You can also find out what the original intent was for these trays and you might even be able to get pre-fit sponges intended for the which might be helpful.
