i have a heater in my tank and the temp in the tank is 26 and the heater is at 24 but the heater keeps coming on for short periods of time then goes off?? why would it do this when the temp in the tank is higher than what ive set the heater at??? im very confused.

the settings on the heater, are in no way accurate. just a guide.

the more experienced amongst us, use a spirit thermometer, in the tank, to judge water temp. using the heater settings as a base to start with.

odd isnt it. a £3/$4 spirit thermometer, turns out, time and time again, to be the most consistently accurate temp sensor sold to keepers..
