I like them too! My last one somehow lodged itself between a rock and the glass and drowned when I was away for a couple of days :(.

But I found a tiny 5mm baby one that came in with a shipment of kissing gouramis to my lfs, so we'll see how that goes.

Nice pics, the black pebbles are pretty nice too :).

sorry to hear about your snail :(
thanks very much for the comments and good luck with the little one :)

great pictures :good:

I was thinking of getting some snails.

Any advice?

i find apple snails excellent as algae eaters and general tank cleaners and they dont eat your plants as long as they can find enough food - i supplement my snails diet with algae wafers and catfish pellets .
You need an alkaline ph else the shells will erode and the snail will eventually die unless you add calcium to the tank which some people recommend anyway (i dont use it and mine get on fine).
Unlike other snails apple snails have 2 seperate sexes male and female so just having one means you wont end up with hundreds .
If you have any openings in your tank make sure you seal them over as apple snails will escape and you'll find little trails on the floor in the morning which is ok as an apple snail can survive out of water for a week ( i think )
I found ebay and here a good place to get cheap apple snails to start off with . Apple snails they in many different natural colours, i have pink stripe , red stripe , blue , ivory , golden and hazel apple snails which look colourful in the tank .

lovely snails i love the pebbles to
scot :good:

thanks ;)

Nice pictures. Your snails look very healthy. :good:

I love apple snails but I can't have them since I've chosen to keep dwarf puffers

Nice collection you go there, your others are loads nicer than the ones i sent you, hope they are doing alright.
