Hi all,

Simple question:

Can I keep an apple snail in an aquarium of 18'C? or is this too cold for them?

I've kept many snails over the years, but unbelievably never an apple snail (I've found it very difficult to get any good stock in my area).

Thanks.

I keep mine around 27C, but then they are breeders

They really slow down under 20C i noticed, they dont grow, eat, move, breed as much at 20C or lower

Cheers! Thanks for the info :D

I here there are a few Nerites that like cooler temperatures? Perhaps a couple of those? (Will they take vegetable matter if algae starts to run dry?)

18c is too cold for them mate, minium long term should be 22c and max 30c

Mine too are breeders i Have White/Gold and blue breeding in the same tank, have just sold 170 this week lol
