my tank ? its 4ft long, but only 15 inches high and 12 wide. good dimensions for bottom dwelling fish, i love my catfish...

I've been researching Rams, and there appears to be a wealth of conflicting information as to what temperature they can live in. And pH for that matter.

I've read that they prefer 27+ for temperature, but many sites suggest as low as 72F (about 22C?).

I think our preference is for the Rams, the OH likes the one on this page: Ram link and in fact, as I check the page, they are one of the sites that suggest the wide temperature band.

I made a little spreadsheet to collate information from different sources when I was planning my tank setup and these are the different suggestions regardings temperature:

Mini Encyclopedia - The Tropical Aquarium (by Gina Sandford): 24-28°C
Tropical Fish Forums fish species profile: 26.6°C
Aquatic Community: up to 27°C
Wikipedia: 25.5-29.5°C

I am currently keeping my GBRs at 26°C

Hope this helps

My tanks sits at 25.8 usually.

Not sure I'd try the lowest ranges of any fish!! I can't turn the tank up to 28 because of the other inhabitants too!

Appreciate all the help and feedback, the OH has swung me towards blue rams finally, so as I can only have one or the other (gutted I can't really have both)

Might distract me from buying Cories too. Got damned close to buying Julii last week!
