Okay, when my 29g is finally free of bristlenoses (Probably a couple of months time, waiting for them to GROOOW to about 2 inches :shout: ) I plan to stock the tank with Apistogramma Panduro or Nijsseni, my questions are, what is the actual difference between them? How many would I get (1m, 1f / 1m 2f etc...)? And also, how much would you expect to pay for them? General advice/opinions on the species would be great, thanks people :good:

Sounds like a nice plan! The difference between the two is size one gets bigger than the other but I forget which is which.

I would do 1 male to 4-5 females + schoolers like a big big school of ember tetras and then a few of the smaller whiptail cats like red lizard whiptail :)

1 male and or 3 females would be best. The price varies alot around my area you are looking at about £21 for a trip or £28 for 4. And im not sure how true this is but ive heard that the female Nijsseni normally have alot more black patches on them.

Really? 3-5 females! I didn't realise that would even be possible in my size tank :hyper: I think I will try to get hold of whichever is smallest. To be on the safe side. I had planned on the Apistos and a group of cardinals (Probably about 10), would this be ok, Or will I need to look into different schooling fish? Also, will that leave room for anything like the whiptail? I would like a catfish or something similar, but I didn't think stocking wise I could.
Thanks Guys :)

I have just one male and one female Nijsseni in my tank.
Not been a problem and they have spawned several times, but
no fry as the loaches eat the eggs.
I plan to place them on their own in a seperate smaller tank
to see if they can breed succesfully there.

Trimar Aquatics, on line service, are selling the Nijsseni at £18 a pair
and the Panduro at £16 a pair.

Hope that helps :good:
