I currently have a 75 gallon (48" x 18" x 21" LxWxH) tank set up that I am going to redo. I want to do it more focused on smaller plant friendly community tanks. I currently have 3 Panda Garra that i will be keeping and adding to the numbers to increase them to at least 6 and a bolivian ram. The rest of the stocking will look like this (assuming it works out and you guys think it would work out):

6-8x Panda Garra
8x Female Betta's
8-10x Otoclinus affinis
8-10x Kuhli Loach (maybe more)
10-12 Neon Tetra
10-12 Black Neon Tetra
10-12 Rummynose Tetra
10-12 Emperor Tetra
10-12 Marble Hatchetfish

Now I also want to add more cichlids to the mix. I was thinking either adding 2x Bolvian Rams (if adding more would be a good idea i would try for females consider the one currently in there is a male) and/or 4x (try for a 1/3 M/F ratio) Cockatoo Apisto (Open to suggestions for other dwarf cichlids)

Now would it be better to keep the same species and maybe try for some possible breeding pairs or maybe should i try to keep all males and do multiple species? assuming they would work with this kind of stocking. I am also looking for other dwarf cichlids/similar fish that could possibly work. Variety would be nice, especially in color. :)

I am planning on heavily planting and adding the stock slowly.

Thank you for any advice/suggestions you have. :) Also does this stocking list seem to high?

96 fish in total seems very high indeed.

I only have around 40 in my 70g and it seems very busy.

It's only a rough estimate and would be put together slowly/only till I felt the tank was at capacity. Stocking amount also depends on how densely planted the tank is. Thank you for pointing out the number though as I had not realized what the total stock was.

Remove your least favourite shoal of Tetras and go with the extra Bolivians and 1 species of Apistogramma. Job done! :good:

Leave out the

8x Female Betta's
and 3 of the Tetras as i just looks allot better to have one big Schoal.
10-12 Neon Tetra
10-12 Black Neon Tetra
10-12 Rummynose Tetra
10-12 Emperor Tetra

And sorry i was thinking in Cm should have check it twice
