I'm not sure ... you could look. From my understanding it needs to be pure Roibois (I'm not certain if I've spelt that right) as some of them come flavoured - we don't want that.
I'm looking for some myself tomorrow as I want to do mine to try and settle this male curviceps down after losing his mate. I really want him to de-stress and colour back up and I'm hoping darkening the water might do the trick. It's giving them what they live in naturally and even though they are all tank bred it can't harm to try replicate their natural enviroment.

I was talking to TwoTankAdmin about the tea a couple of days ago on another thead, I just wish I could remember what the thread was called now so I could point you in the direction. I'll post this and go see if I can find it and report back if I can :)

this is it http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/438406-black-water-extract/

just added the link to it above :)

Ok I've just ordered some for next day delivery From www.wittard.co.uk £6 plus £6 for next day delivery hope this will help.

my male curviceps has finally got some colour back this morning and that's 3 weeks since he lost his mate. It just goes to show how long it can take them to get over stresses. I'm still looking for the Roibos tea as I like the black water look too and I can see the benefits of adding it. 99% of my fish are amazonian anyway and so they'll probably love it! We shall both find out...

Keep us posted on how the little apisto's go :)

My fish seem happier since I started to use Black water extract that my LFS uses , I also add some crushed IAL, My water isnt too brownish but you can see it is, And with the right lighting you hardly notice it, And if you dont like it, It's only a few waterchanges to fix it.

I think I'm going to have to move the male for a while cos he has started to chase her all the time and now her fins are clamped all the time I'll move the male as he is fit and well and the stress will not be as bad for him where it might just be the last ting she needs I'm going to get my Q tank ready for him I'll put a few hiding places for him and some plants and see how she come on over the next few days wish me look lol

fingers crossed for her. Keep us up to date

Thanks for letting us know that Nick, I've got some tea this morning, I just hope it's the right stuff. I'm about to go to your thread, Nick, and check with TTA that's I've bought the right thing before adding it to my tank

I can see from the picture that she looks more relaxed. Perhaps the stress of new surroundings and the males attentions was just too much for her. Leave her another week and see is she starts to pick up more. Once you can see she's calm and settled then  try re-introducing the male

Just a quick update my female is looking a lot better she as got her colour back she looking a deep yellow again and she has started hunting the baby guppies which is a good thing as I am starting to get over run with them lol I'll see if I can get a good pic later.

that's great news. I was only thinking yesterday that I'd not had an update and wondering if she was improving. I'd give her another week and see if you can re-introduce the male.
It may be that you've not got a good pair and you might have to either swap your male until you get a pair or keep them seperate perminantly

Thanks and that's what I plan on doing I've got my fingers crossed that it was just a new environment that upset her but I'll know more in and week then I'll update you on how it's going.

yes please, I'd be interested to know how this pans out :)

I'm interested to see if black water extract works. I would have just kept feeding frozen until she regained her strength. I did separate male/female before, but both ended up being stressed until I put them back.
