Api Liquid Test Kits

iv been using the api testing kit through the fishless cycle of mine day 22.

but the PH reading is hard to match with the colour card (low range)

the colour when testing is a really light blue

the top reading on the card is more of a darker blue, then it goes down through shades of green to the last one which is a yellow colour

Do i match the lightness to a colour on the card which would be one of the light green ones or to the colour which would be blue?

Have you tried the high range pH test?

Yeah and it was no where near the first colour so i know its in the low range

I put it up against the card, and then put it up against light.

Doesn't help that I am partially colour blind... but this how I figure out whats, what... lol

Ill try that, it just makes me think that my PH is close to 6 and causing a stall due to no change?!

my kits exactly the same, its a lighter blue than for the 7.6 blue on the low range card, have stopped using the high range since while back, but back then that would indicate the pH to be less than 7.6 but testing with the low range test always showed it to be around 7.6.... weird!

will use the high range tonight and see if its still the same

Just done my test, its well below the first colour in the high range, i think its around 6.8?1

did both pH tests little while ago, and the high range reads as around 7.4, whereas low range as 7.6 (though slightly lighter in colour), which doesnt really help you though. Hopefully someone else can suggest something.
